About Us

Kelli, Technician

The Animal Emergency Clinics, P.A., were established over 25 years ago by a group of Twin Cities area veterinarians who wanted to provide their clients with quality veterinary care during non-business hours.

We started out with one clinic, one veterinarian, and one technician! Over the years, our hospitals have grown along with the communities we serve. Today, our two clinics, located in St. Paul and Oakdale, employ eight veterinarians and over 60 health care team members...all specially trained in emergency and critical care.

Animal Emergency Clinic is accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). This means that we are in accordance with the highest standards available for small animal veterinary practice.

We keep business hours that are complementary to those of most daytime veterinarian clinics in the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas, allowing us to act as an extension to your family veterinarian.

We care about you!

Our mission statement and core values focus on what's important to us. Our mission? "...to deliver quality and compassionate care that benefits the patients, clients, and veterinary community." Our core values reflect that mission and add our respect for each other as colleagues:

COMPASSION:

Through understanding the emotions of our patients and clients, we provide care tailored to the individual.

INTEGRITY:

We pledge honesty in all of our communications and business practices.

HEALING:

We remedy illness, soothe pain and provide consolation whenever possible.

QUALITY:

The care we provide combines the latest technical innovations with the advanced skills of our emergency health care team.

EDUCATION:

We will strive to acquire the knowledge necessary to better the lives of our patients and clients, and we will share that knowledge with others in a way that is clear and comprehensible.

TEAMWORK:

We believe that a cooperative and coordinated effort in the interests of a common cause can go further and achieve more than one person working alone.

These will be the cornerstone of the culture of our practice. These will guide every decision we make every day.

At Animal Emergency Clinic, we recognize that each of our patients is accompanied by a person who needs care, too. We strive to keep you in the loop about everything that's going on. We'll give you the same special attention that we give your pet.

We're pet owners, too.

We've experienced the anxiety of having a sick pet. We've also felt the pain of losing a dear friend. We know that you need to be able to trust that when your pet needs care, he will be treated the way you treat him -- like a member of the family.

We provide the highest quality medicine.

Does your pet need bloodwork? X-Rays? Hospitalization? Ultrasound or surgery? In addition to good, old-fashioned TLC, we can provide any and all of these technologies to help make your pet feel like himself again.

We're experienced.

We've been providing emergency care to companion animals for over 25 years. In fact, if you've got a sick bird, guinea pig, snake, hamster, or ferret, we're the only clinics in Minnesota who have this much emergency experience with exotic animals. And we'll treat your dogs and cats too!
