Although Kelli joined AEC in 2003, she has been working in the animal care field since she volunteered to clean kennels at the tender age of 12. Since then, she has obtained her AAS in Veterinary Technology from Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City, Missouri, and in 2001 she passed her AVECCT certification, a nationally-recognized certification in veterinary technician emergency and critical care.
Kelli raises, trains, shows, and rescues bullmastiffs, and is the director of Twin Cities Bullmastiff Rescue. She owns two dogs: a mastiff/labrador mix named Keeper, who is a registered Delta Society Therapy Dog, and a bullmastiff named Quinn, a "registered doofus." In addition to her dogs, she owns a Fan Fingered Gecko, and Mr. Goldfish, a retired blood donor cat from AEC.
Kelli enjoys doing therapy dog work with Keeper, and tracking dog work with Quinn. When she is not at work or spending time with her dogs, she enjoys working on her "fixer-upper" house, gardening, playing her celtic harp, and reading.
